“Anyone who lives in Memphis, or even just visits understands immediately its soul, its passion, its sense of community that fosters a giving spirit to help one another. It’s a big city with a small-town heart that infuses soul and sincerity into everything it does,” said Leighanne Soden, Executive Director of West Cancer Foundation. “From its musical roots, to its one-of-a-kind food, to its reputation for inventing new kinds of businesses, the city’s heart and soul fuel its accomplishments, and West Cancer Foundation is the newest organization to marry heart and soul with impressive capabilities to address a very real need.”
In addition to research and cancer prevention awareness and education, West Cancer Foundation provides quality patient support programs including breast screenings, lymphedema garments, post-mastectomy care and transportation to and from healthcare appointments. The programs help fill the void in the community for those who are undergoing cancer treatment and are uninsured or not able to afford the co-pay amount for their insurance.
