Calling all young adventurers! It’s time to rev up your wheels and get ready to roll in the very first Kids’ Bike Parade at West Fight On!
Get ready for a day filled with laughter, excitement, and a dash of friendly competition as children ages 4 to 12 gather to showcase their pedal-powered creativity. Whether it’s decorating your bike with streamers, flags, or even turning it into a magical unicorn, the possibilities are endless!
Mark your calendars for September 7, and don’t forget to bring your helmets, enthusiasm, and a big smile! The parade kicks off at 8:15 at Shelby Farms.

Pickleball for a Cure!
Earlier this month 170 pickleball players came out to the Windyke Country Club for the first ever Donna Goodfellow Pickleball Tournament, hosted by Courage Thru Cancer and benefitting West Cancer Foundation. Fifty-eight teams passionately competed over the weekend in the tournament all in support of a noble cause.
This tournament is in memory of Donna Goodfellow, a beloved figure in the community and mother of Mark and Jill Goodfellow. Donna’s courageous battle against cancer serves as a poignant reminder of the strength and determination that define so many individuals touched by this disease.
In the midst of friendly matches, we found unity in our shared commitment to making a difference. Each serve, volley and point scored echoed the collective determination to honor those who have faced cancer with unwavering courage.
Thank you to Courage Thru Cancer for putting on a great event and to all who participated, volunteered and supported it. Your contributions help us continue our mission of providing free, practical services to those affected by cancer, ensuring that no one fights alone. Together, we are breaking barriers.

It Impacted Her Daily Life
Once Marina’s cancer spread to her eyes, it affected her vision which prevented her from driving. As an elderly woman who lives alone without reliable transportation, she knew she needed a resource to get to and from her numerous doctors’ appointments and treatments. Marina was able to rely on West Cancer Foundation to provide free transportation to and from her various doctors’ appointments. Learn more about Marina’s story and our Transportation program below.

Together they discuss how holistic care is a critical piece of health care and share some confidence-building resources available to Mid-South patients and caregivers. Breakthroughs in Chemo
Traditional chemotherapy frequently presents substantial difficulties, namely harsh side effects. Researchers at the National University of Singapore have been working on developing a less toxic chemotherapy and have engineered a bacteria to deliver the treatment in a more-targeted and more effective manner. This new technique offers a more precise and potent, but less harmful alternative to conventional chemotherapy. It not only enhances the efficacy of the treatment but also substantially lowers the dosage of drugs needed for cancer therapy.
West Cancer Foundation’s mission is to break through barriers to cancer care and improve patient outcomes by providing accessible patient resources, early detection and education, and community-based research.
