Jarvis Greer
Emmy-winning Sports Reporter
Jarvis Greer, a cancer survivor, is a Memphis sports icon who spent more than 43 years as an Emmy-winning sports reporter, anchor and director with WMC Action News 5. He is a former University of Memphis football standout and graduated with a degree in Communications/Fine Arts. Greer has been inducted into the University of Memphis Hall of Fame and is a member of the university’s Highland Hundred football booster club. He was also inducted into the Christian Brothers High School Hall of Fame and serves on the school’s Board of Directors. Greer served on the inaugural Board of Directors for the Mike Rose Soccer Complex and was instrumental in helping build the 2,500-seat, 17-field facility which remains one of the top soccer venues in the nation. He currently serves as a member of the University of Memphis Tigers football broadcasting team and hosts GrizzBeat, a weekly podcast with the Memphis Grizzlies. Greer has won Memphis Magazine’s “Best of Memphis” award three times, and in 2022, he was inducted into the Memphis Sports Hall of Fame.
