Our signature fundraising event may look a little bit different this year, but our purpose remains the same– to rally our community to FIGHT ON in the face of cancer.
Due to the public health concerns related to COVID-19, West Cancer Foundation has opted to take our annual fundraising fitness event virtual this year to protect the health and safety of our cyclists, runners, walkers, and most importantly cancer patients and their families. While we will sincerely miss gathering with all of you at Shelby Farms on September 12 to cycle, run, walk and FIGHT ON together, we know that the support for West Cancer Foundation and our mission of fighting cancer surpasses just one single day or one single fundraising event. Our community is dedicated to advancing cancer research and supporting all those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Challenge Yourself. Challenge Your Friends. CHALLENGE CANCER.
Participants will be able to register for CHALLENGE CANCER and receive an Official 2020 CHALLENGE CANCER event t-shirt, an Official CHALLENGE CANCER event bib, a customized personal fundraising page, and access to all of our Official CHALLENGE CANCER Challenges. We will host three different types of Challenges that participants can opt into with the opportunity to win fun prizes for completing challenges. You can participate in as many or as few as you would like to or you can create your own to challenge yourself and challenge your friends.
On September 12, the day that we would normally be gathering on the start line at Shelby Farms Park, we will be instead gather virtually for our CHALLENGE CANCER Closing Celebration. We will announce our Challenge winners, celebrate our fundraising success, thank our supporters, and honor cancer survivors and remember those who we miss so much.(More details on how to tune in coming soon.)

FITNESS CHALLENGES: Our Official Fitness Challenges will be hosted via the Challenge Hound platform and can be linked to your Strava account or be uploaded manually. There will be fitness challenges for every fitness level from those seriously competitive runners and cyclists to those who just want to get moving. New Challenges will be added throughout the coming weeks, so you can opt in at any time.
FUNDRAISING CHALLENGES: Cancer patients need our help now more than ever, and West Cancer Foundation is relying on your support to FIGHT ON in the face of cancer. Challenge yourself to become a West Warrior by raising at least $150, or REALLY Challenge yourself and become a Champion and raise $1,000 to help support cancer patients and advance the science of cancer care in our community. Every dollar makes a difference.
FUN CHALLENGES: Fighting cancer can be fun too! Keep a look out on your email and West Cancer Foundation social media for some challenges that are just for fun. Our Ribbon Wall will be taking a tour around Memphis encouraging people to honor and remember those loved ones who have been touched by cancer.
Not feeling any of our official challenges or want to show off your creativity and make your own? Great! Challenge yourself and challenge your friends to CHALLENGE CANCER in your own way. Show off what you are doing on social media using #challengecancer.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Funds raised through CHALLENGE CANCER benefit West Cancer Foundation in our mission to advance the fight against cancer. West Cancer Foundation invests in cancer research and education, supports cancer patients, and promotes the overall health of our community. Your gifts provide mammograms to women who are uninsured and transportation to cancer patients who need to get to treatment. Your generosity helps to fund the latest and greatest in cancer research and educate future oncologists.
