Lymphedema Assistance
One of the painful side effects of cancer treatment is lymphedema — swelling in the arms and/or legs. Medical compression garments can help ease the pain, but in many cases, insurance doesn’t cover the cost, if the patient has insurance at all. West Cancer Foundation provides free lymphedema garments to alleviate these painful symptoms so that patients can lead a more normal life during and after their recovery.
Physicians determine whether a patient requires a medical compression garment, and if they meet financial requirements, West Cancer Foundation staff will then guide them through securing the best garment for their needs. The Foundation also offers free transportation to and from doctor’s appointments and garment providers to make it even easier for patients to take control of this cancer consequence.
We’re breaking through barriers to cancer care.
